At the top of a hill in the Sveti Križ settlement, which offers a beautiful view of the town of Tuheljske Toplice, there is a secluded small chapel of the same name. At the site of the current chapel which was built in 1831, there was a small Gothic Chapel of the Holy Cross, which was first mentioned in 1519. Historical sources say that this was the oldest chapel in the Tuhelj parish.

The current chapel was built in the baroque style. Its layout comprises a square nave with a polygonally shaped entrance area, a narrow rectangular shrine and a sacristy on the south side. The front side of the chapel is very simple, and the building houses a small bell tower. A small trail leads to the chapel, adorned by trees with intricately spreading branches, contributing to the peace and serenity of worshipers and visitors. Above the altar, a painting of Jesus Christ the Good Shepherd painted in the baroque style dominates the scene, with blood coming out of his wounds, giving food and drink to his flock. A statue of the Virgin Mary with Jesus in her arms and angels above them adorns the main altar. The altars to the left and right are dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and Saint Anthony of Padua. A choir is located above the main entrance which has three polygonal openings.

Collections and donations were used to renovate the crucifix, the chapel was electrified in 2012, and reflectors and a chandelier were bought. The choir floor was renovated as well.

The chapel holds mass for special occasions, such as 1st January, to mark the New Year, on Holy Thursday, and the last Sunday of October.
